AGARTALA, July 17 2021: Sudip Roy Barman, who is leading camp of dissident MLAs in BJP, Saturday offered puja at sacred Tripureswari temple in south Tripura amid speculations that he would be considered in ensuing reshuffle of council of ministers. Another rebel MLA Ram Prasad Paul also offered puja at the temple, but he did it separately.
Sources close to Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb who is currently camping at New Delhi and holding deliberations with the central leaders said that Chief Minister was advised to do reshuffle in the council of ministers by filling up vacancies and replacing a couple of ministers.
Four ministers can be accommodated in the ministry. Two incumbent ministers are likely to be axed.
Thus there is a chance to accommodate six new ministers.
Though number of new entries remains unclear, Chief Minister Deb will undertake reshuffle next week, sources confirmed. He will meet Governor after returning from New Delhi as part of modalities required for expansion of his council of ministers.
