REGIONAL, September 12, 2025: Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio Friday held a meeting at Bamboo Hall in Naga Heritage Village, Kisama to discuss the preparations and plans for the upcoming Hornbill Festival 2025 with all line and line departments. In his address, the Chief Minister highlighted the significance of the festival as the state's most important annual event and stressed the need for improving infrastructure, sanitation and beautification of the Heritage Village.
He also highlighted the importance of providing basic amenities such as comfortable facilities, drinking water, food and proper sanitation for visitors and travellers. Rio also called upon the departments to raise awareness about cleanliness among the public.
Chief Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress of works by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) and urged for the completion and operation of all road projects before the festival begins. The Chief Minister said that the quality and content of the festival should not be compromised as it serves as a platform to showcase the best of Nagaland.
Abu Metha, Advisor to the Chief Minister and Chairman of IDAN, informed that several dignitaries, including foreign officials, will be attending the festival this year. He urged the line departments to sincerely address various challenges to ensure the success of the event.
Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Tourism and Higher Education, also shared his views during the meeting. Line departments, including Tourism, Art & Culture, Industries & Commerce, Transport, PHE, PWD and Power highlighted the progress of works and activities undertaken by their respective departments.
