AGARTALA, November 16 2023: Family of a deceased who reportedly died due to faulty surgery at a city private hospital demanded action against the perpetrators. With this the Nightingale Nursing Home owned by a local wealthy businessman landed in another controversy.
Despite registration of complaints, the police and the district administration have not yet acted against the owner Tapas Ranjan Saha or the medical team that oversaw treatment and conducted surgery on Khuku Rani Roy (40). The nursing home management reportedly has clout in political circles.
The victim hailed from Rajarbagh locality in Udaipur, the headquarter town of Gomati district.
Erring doctors were also held accountable for passing fake information over the condition of the woman. They apprised the family members that she was critical post-surgery and needed to be shifted to another hospital whereas she passed away during the course of gallstone surgery.
Despite the fiasco, the Nightingale Nursing Home squeezed Rs 1 lakh 30 thousand from the patient party.
