NCC organises career guidance workshop

KOHIMA, March 17 2023: A ‘Career Guidance Workshop’ was organized by 25 Naga Bn NCC in Yingli College, Longleng Friday. The half day workshop covered various aspects of joining Armed Forces as Commissioned Officers like eligibility, role and benefits for men and women, pay and allowances.
Col CST Swamy, Commanding Officer of 25 Naga Bn NCC, Mokokchung delivered an audio-visual presentation on the occasion and exhorted the young students including the NCC cadets of the college to consider joining the Armed Forces and be an example to the Naga community. He brought out the benefits of joining Armed Forces including Free Training, 80 days of Leave per year, medical facilities for self and family, canteen facilities, adventure activities etc apart from a hefty carry home pay of almost Rs 1 lakh per month.
He also brought out the advantages of NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders that they are not required to appear for the written exam and directly attend the SSB interview under the NCC Special Entry Scheme for Armed Forces. Upto 20 additional marks are given for them in ‘Agnipath’ scheme of recruitment as soldiers too. 25 Naga Bn NCC is ready to guide the interested candidates in application process, preparation for written exam and SSB Interview too.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr T Temsu Imti, Principal, Yingli College called upon the students to utilize the golden opportunity to make Armed Forces as their career choice and serve the country with honour. He also expressed satisfaction that the NCC Cadets of the college have been in the forefront of all activities of the college and are serving as role models to other students of the college.
The event came to an end with SUO Shetlong giving the vote of thanks and a group photo.
