National Gopal Ratna Award winners felicitated

REGIONAL, November 30, 2024: Northeast India's largest dairy cooperative Purabi Dairy honored four recipients of the National Gopal Ratna Awards, recognising their dedication, hard work and commitment to advancing the dairy sector in the region. The awards were handed by Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, in New Delhi as part of National Milk Day celebrations.
The four awardees are affiliated with Purabi Dairy, which continues to support and empower dairy farmers across Assam through its extensive network and initiatives.
Dairy farmers Juna Tamuli Barman of Bajali and Junuma Mali of Morigaon won the Best Dairy farmer rearing indigenous cattle/buffalo breeds under the Special NER category. Md Abdur Rahim of Kamrup won the Best Artificial Insemination Technician (AIT) award under the Special NER category. Kamdhenu Dugdha Utpadak Samabay Samitee Ltd of Nityananda, Bajali, won the Best Dairy Cooperative Society award under the Special NER category.
The awards are a testament to the unwavering dedication and hard work of the dairy farmers and technicians. The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying under the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying initiated the 'Rashtriya Gokul Mission' under the National Programme for Bovine Breeding and Dairy Development.
