At the CBSE's Far East Zone Taekwondo Tournament 2022

GUWAHATI, December 11 2022: Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) Far East Zone Taekwondo Tournament concluded successfully at Modern English School, Kahilipara, Guwahati, on Sunday, December 11, 2022. The three-day event kicked off and witnessed immense participation from the students. The event aimed to raise the competitive spirit, equip them with self-defence skills, and encourage students to lead healthier lives.
In the last three days, around 350 students from 50 schools have participated in the zonal and national level competition. Three major categories of the competition among boys and girls were Under 14, Under 17 and Under 19 where no student was below 10.
Several eminent dignitaries attended the three-day event Udayaditya Gogoi, Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Department of School Education, Dipak Keot, Deputy Commissioner of Tax, Assam and Rahul Mazumdar, Professor of History, Arya Vidyapeeth College, Pranjit Bhagawati, Deputy Director of Sports Authority of India's NE Regional Centre (Guwahati), Hiranya Saikia, General Secretary of All Assam Taekwondo Association and Vice President of Taekwondo Federation of India, Pranjal Buragohain, General Secretary of Kamrup District Sports Association and Kamrup District Taekwondo Association, Pranjal Baruah, President of Kamrup Metro Taekwondo Association, Pankaj Das, Director, Modern English School and Jonali Das, Principal, Modern English School.
The event concluded with the prize and certificate distribution among participants. Modern English School, Guwahati secured two Gold, two Silver and two Bronze at the CBSE's Far East Zone Taekwondo Tournament.
