Kiren Rijiju leads a high level delegation to Saudi Arabia
A pivotal moment in enhancing India-Saudi Arabia relations

NATIONAL, November 09, 2025: Union Minister of Minority Affairs & Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju visited Saudi Arabia from November 7 to 9 accompanied by a high-level delegation. The visit was initiated at the invitation of Dr Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah.
Rijiju Sunday held a bilateral meeting with Dr Al Rabiah where both parties reviewed Haj preparations, coordinated logistics and committed to streamlining the pilgrimage process for Indian pilgrims. A significant outcome of the meeting was the signing of the Bilateral Haj Agreement for Haj-2026, confirming India's quota at 175,025.
During his visit, Kiren Rijiju reviewed ongoing Haj preparations with Indian Embassy and Consulate officials praising their coordination with Saudi authorities to enhance the welfare of Indian pilgrims. He also undertook field visits to key Haj and Umrah sites in Jeddah and Taif to observe the infrastructure first hand and engaged with members of the Indian diaspora.
This visit signifies a pivotal moment in enhancing India-Saudi Arabia relations underlining mutual commitments in cultural exchange and community welfare and solidifying bilateral ties for the benefit of pilgrims and broader cooperation.
