Jhiki Das pens her hitherto journey as a model
I was born in Tripura on March 14 1998. I am the first child in my family. I completed my schooling in 2016 and did graduation in Bachelor Medical in Laboratory Technology at Bhavan's Tripura College in Science and Technology.
I am now working as a Lab Technician under the health authority.
When I began my career as a model about 3 years ago, I never expected it would deepen my sense of self- love. From my teenage I always watching “India’s Next Top Model”, & assumed that the fashion industry - and modeling in particular- was a superficial, hyper - critical.
Seeing women so callously evaluated on their appearance reinforced the idea that there were rigid expectations for how a model should look. So when I got selected for my first Ramp Show "Red Carpet 2018" at Tripura, I was excited but my exhilaration was tainted with the fear because of my zero experience.
Fortunately, I met Dr Rakhi Debbarma ("Mrs East India 2017") and she gave me hope to carry on. She trained me for almost 25 days before my show and luckily I won the show and got my first title "Red Carpet Winner 2018".
After that my confidence ran high. Soon, I got chance for my first photoshoot. Also I was selected for Nivedita's Designer Boutique for showcasing their new Designer Dresses.
I joined “Face of Tripura 2019" contest and again won the title. Walking for "Sarnakamal Jewellery" as a Runway model for launching its brand New Diamond Collection at Agartala was my best experience I had till now.
It happened soon after my crowning.
I have accomplished a lot being exactly who I am.
Next I was chosen as a groomer for Rhythm Star Academy present "Glamoria Session 1".
Back to back I got selected for fashion shows and for also photoshoots for Calendar, music albums and more.
