Indian engineer, spouse killed in road raze in Bangladesh
Their car was hit by a loaded truck on way to immigration check post

AGARTALA, November 25 2023: An Indian railway engineer employed in a cross border rail link project in eastern Bangladesh and his spouse were killed in a road accident on their way to immigration check post to return home Saturday morning. The police opened a probe to ascertain if the deaths occurred as a result of an unintentional accident or if it was planned.
Asim Kumar Biswas, 60, and his wife Chobi Biswas, 49, are from Siliguri in West Bengal, killed on Satkhira-Khulna road after the private car they were traveling in was hit by a loaded truck. They died at the scene of head-on collision.
The accident reportedly took place in front of the main entrance of the 33 BGB camp on the road. Driver of the private car Md Rafiqul Islam Sajib, 30, sustained injuries and rescuers admitted him in a hospital.
Asim Kumar Biswas was working in under construction Khulna-Mongla rail line. The couple was staying at Khulna.
The driver of the killer truck fled the scene, police said, adding they were working to detain him.
