NATIONAL, August 27, 2025: The meeting of the Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the proposal for the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2030 allowing the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports to submit a bid. The event will feature athletes from 72 countries, coaches, technical officials, tourists and media persons benefiting local businesses and generating revenue.
Ahmedabad has been proposed as host city as it offers world-class stadiums, cutting-edge training facilities and a passionate sporting culture. Hosting the CWG in India will boost tourism, create jobs and inspire millions of young athletes.
Professionals will also gain opportunities in sports science, event operations, logistics, broadcasting, media, IT and public relations. The event will foster national pride, unity, and encourage greater participation in sports at all levels.
