Government delegation on official visit to Japan
To foster collaborations and developmental partnerships

REGIONAL, July 05, 2025: Nagaland's high-level delegation is on an official visit to Japan to explore collaborations, partnerships and developmental initiatives with various stakeholders. The delegation, led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, includes senior officers from the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line), the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF), Konnekt Asia, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The delegation held high-level meetings in Tokyo on July 4 discussing collaborations in various sectors, including human resource development, tourism, arts and culture, sports, and film. The Sasakawa Peace Foundation shared insights into its projects in the North Eastern States of India, highlighting the importance of transforming wartime memories into constructive partnerships. JICA expressed interest in expanding human resource exchange programs, while NYK Line discussed its contributions to Nagaland and the potential for expanding engagements.
The delegation also visited Kochi Prefecture, where they discussed joint initiatives related to human resource development, skill enhancement, capacity building and technology transfer. Nagaland's high literacy rate, English proficiency and strong social and cultural capital were emphasized as key strengths.
