SILCHAR, December 03 2022: G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Culture, Tourism & DoNER, and Dr AK Abdul Momen, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh besides Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati were the main dignitaries in two day Silchar - Sylhet Festival 2022 that culminated Saturday.
Assam Transport Minister Parimal Suklabaidya and Mohammad Mustafizur Rahman, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India were the guests of honour at the first ever event held at the Police Parade Ground in Silchar.
The inaugural function Friday began with a welcome address by Dr Rajdeep Roy, MP, Silchar. The chair, chief guests and the guests of honour addressed the gatherings.
Silchar - Sylhet Festival 2022 is an event organised jointly by the India Foundation and Ministry of Cultural Affair to strengthen the relationship between India and Bangladesh. Some100 strong delegates of businessmen, politicians, and scholars from Bangladesh attended.
The first Silchar - Sylhet Festival 2022 mainly focused on the topic of Trade and Commerce but it also touched the subject like culture, food, language & literature, and the shared interest in our rivers and the environment.
