AGARTALA, February 23 2021: Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has directed the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education to adopt a plan to assist the education of the daughters of poor widows in the state.
He also called upon the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education to play a more active role in the proper implementation of the Central and State Government projects to provide various facilities including nutrition and health education to the children and their mothers studying in the Anganwadi Centres in the state.
Chief Minister advised the officials to encourage various clubs and social organizations in the state to come forward in their respective areas to help in the education of the daughters of poor widows.
He added that the department needs to work on a special plan to further reduce the rate of malnutrition and anemia in children and women.
Department officials need to monitor with more sincerity and dedication whether the children and mothers are getting all the services regularly from all the Anganwadi Centers in the state.
The department should work towards providing electricity connection and LPG gas through solar system in every Anganwari center, he asserted.
He said various initiatives have been taken through the Department of Drinking Water and Health to ensure safe drinking water supply in every Anganwari center in the state.
A target of 11027 Anganari Kendra pure drinking water supply has been taken in FY 2020 21.Pure drinking water has already been provided at One Fifty Anganwari Center and the rest will be supplied by next March.
Union Ministry of Women and Child Development approves setting up of 230 new Anganwadi Centers in the state.Donor Mantra has also approved setting up of 51 new Anganwadi Centers in the state in FY 2020 21.
The secretary of the social welfare and social education department also said that one-stop centers have been set up in every district to help women victims of domestic violence.
At present, there is a permanent building at a one-stop center in the western district of the state.
Construction work has also started on Dhalai Khowai Sepoy Jala and Central Permanent Building in South Tripura District. In Tripura Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao program has been implemented in seven districts of the state
Biplab Kumar Deb informed that the Union Home Ministry has approved the appointment of 463 women police personnel in Gomati and West districts. He further said that the decision taken by the state government to provide allowances to 30,000 new people in the state is being taken seriously by the implementation department.
