CM says committed to enhancing health system infrastructure
 He inaugurated several key projects at AGMC and GBP Hospital

AGARTALA, November 03, 2025: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha stressed the state government's commitment to enhancing health system infrastructure aiming for Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) to rank among the top 10 in India. 
He inaugurated several key projects at AGMC and GBP Hospital Monday including a Critical Care Building and a Communicable Disease Centre, and unveiled the foundation stone for various infrastructure projects to bolster healthcare facilities. 
Speaking at the venue, Dr Saha highlighted the need for improved confidence and skill development among doctors, stressing the importance of better examination scores for students in medical colleges. He noted ongoing efforts to eliminate corruption at hospitals involving brokers who mislead patients. 
Dr Saha provided updates on medical procedures mentioning recent hip and knee replacements, and announced the launch of nine super specialties at AGMC with plans for additional services pending necessary funding. 
He called for collective effort to elevate AGMC's status, supported by significant financial allocations from the DoNER Ministry for infrastructure development in health facilities, including a new building for mothers and children and developments to the Dental College.
