AGARTALA, March 29, 2024: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha highlighted the primary goal of the BJP-led government to remain in power by addressing issues and prioritising the welfare of all citizens. He attributed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to revoke Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir as a boost for the party's target of winning 370 seats in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at an election meeting at Mandwai in west Tripura Friday he mentioned the peaceful conduct of the state's assembly elections in 2023, despite claims from the opposition of poor law and order. Dr Saha emphasised the government's focus on providing various social benefits to the people, including an increase in social allowances from Rs 700 to Rs 2,000.
He also stated that the government has implemented 33% reservations for women in jobs and 33% for parliamentary seats. The Chief Minister criticised the CPIM for their failure to resolve the Bru refugee stalemate for years and credited the BJP for its resolution.
Dr Manik Saha praised Prime Minister Modi for his tireless efforts towards the welfare of people from all social backgrounds and his dedication to the country's development.
