Dr Saha announced financial aid of Rs 4 lakh for the bereaved family

AGARTALA, November 20, 2024: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Wednesday paid his respects to Indian Army soldier Subhankar Bhowmik who recently died while on patrol duty at the Siachen glacier in the northern frontier. He announced a financial aid of Rs 4 lakh for Bhowmik's family from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
“Paid heartfelt respects after his mortal remains arrived in Agartala today”, Dr Saha wrote in his social media page.
The mortal remains of Bhowmik, a resident of Amarpur in Gomati District, were brought to Agartala where Dr Saha and Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu paid tribute at the MBB Airport.
Dr Saha acknowledged Bhowmik's sacrifice in Siachen due to an avalanche and commended his service to the nation. He also promised the government's assistance for the bereaved family.
