AGARTALA, April 22, 2024: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha criticised the CPI(M)-Congress for using the Janajati (tribal) community as a vote bank and this being the main agenda of their INDI Alliance. He was addressing a rally at Ramchandraghat in Khowai District to support BJP candidate Kriti Devi Debbarma, stating that the main challenge before his party was to increase the voting percentage.
Dr Saha quoted PM Modi's commitment to the development of the Janajati people and strengthening democracy after the BJP's rise. He also highlighted the dire state of the Northeast region before 2014, but now, with Narendra Modi's leadership, peace has returned.
Chief Minister criticised the CPI(M) for boasting about the "golden days" but leaving the state with a debt of Rs 13,000 crore. He also introduced the HIRA model and Act East Policy.
He argued that the main agenda of the INDI Alliance is to confuse people. The event was attended by former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarman, TIPRA MLA Ranjit Debbarma and youth leader Nabadal Banik.
