Chief Minister exhorts PDA thanksgiving programme

Kohima, June 8, 2019: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, while addressing the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) Thanksgiving Programme at the State Banquet Hall, Kohima, said that their victory in the recently conducted election was accepted with all humility and sincerely thanked their alliance partners the BJP, JD(U), IND, NDPP and elected Members from other political parties, former NPP MLAs who had merged with the NDPP and supported them on the principle and ideology of regionalism.
He mentioned that elections are contested on the backbone of the party organisations as it is the party cadre that reaches out to the people in the campaign for votes.
Rio also congratulated the entire machinery that conducted the elections in Nagaland and in the rest of the country, the ECI, the State Election Department, the Administration, Police, Law enforcement agencies, Civil societies, Tribal hohos, Church organisations, NGOs and all other sections that contributed towards the conduct of successful elections.
He also acknowledged and appreciated all the electorate who ensured a triumph of democracy in this election.
Rio also congratulated the two successful candidates, Member of Parliament (LokSabha), Tokheho Yepthomi and the new MLA in the PDA Alliance, Sharingain Longkumer and hope that they will serve the people with dedication and commitment.
