AGARTALA, July 14, 2024: Ravi Gandhi, ADG of Eastern Command, BSF, along with Patel Piyush Purushottam Das, IG of BSF in Tripura, visited Boxanagar and the surrounding border areas in Sepahijala. During his visit the ADG held a Prahari Sammelan at the Border out Post (BOP) Boxanagar where he engaged with officers and Seema praharis, including female officers, to discuss operational issues at the ground level.
He also instructed field commanders to take necessary measures to combat border crime, such as the illegal migration of Bangladeshi nationals. After the Prahri Sammelan Ravi Gandhi, ADG of BSF and the IG visited Nagar village in Boxanagar, which is located near gate number 185A, beyond the border fence.
The villagers warmly welcomed them and the ADG had a detailed conversation with them inquiring about their challenges and assuring them of BSF's support.
There are 43 villages in Tripura with over 4600 residents living beyond the fence.
These villages are highly vulnerable to border crimes from trans-border criminals and pose a challenge to border management. BSF is fully committed to ensuring their safety and security.
