BSF seizes large quantity of Yaba tablets

AGARTALA, April 19, 2019: BSF seized a large quantity of Yaba tablets in a major success in counter narcotics operation in Tripura that shares 856km boundary with Bangladesh. The border force informed that its troops deployed in NC Nagar area in Sepahijala district prevented an attempt to smuggle out contraband across border fence.
On search of the area, troops recovered one plastic bundle containing 1800 Yaba Tablets worth Rs.9,00,000 from the spot. The seized Yaba Tablets have been handed over to PS N C Nagar.
The suspects fled the scene before capture.
In another incident BSF also seized 18 Kgs of Ganja worth Rs. 90,000 from different places under Madhupur, Srirampur and PR Bari police stations in the same district.
In a statement BSF said its troops deployed on the border are making constant efforts and seizing contraband items including Ganja, Yaba Tablets, Phensedyl and Cattle from the International Border ‘thus making Tripura a drug-free state’.
