BSF and DRI nabs 3 suspects in a joint operation
Seized a big haul of narcotics worth Rs 2.07 crores

AGARTALA, March 26 2023: Border Security Force is fully committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from Tripura and making “Tripura - A Drug-Free State" Resultantly, BSF has been conducting a special drive against trans-border smugglers, particularly of narcotics and drugs, and succeeded in neutralizing them at regular intervals independently as well as in close association with other sister Agencies.
On March 26 2023 in the wee hours, a specific Intelligence input was received indicating the stocking of a huge consignment of Ganja in a house. Acting on the said tip-off, joint Ops was planned and carried out in the house of a suspected person of Urabari village under Sidhai police station and he was apprehended on the spot.
During preliminary cross-examination, he revealed the name of the main King-Pin resident of Sidhai area and other associates. The tip further led to the search of their houses, and Ganja was recovered.
A total worth Rs 2,07,75,000 weighing 1385 Kgs of Ganja was recovered clandestinely hidden underground in their houses where all three Indian nationals (including the king pin) were apprehended.
It is pertinent to mention that the BSF Tripura is committed to thwarting the attempts being made by trans-border criminals and smugglers by taking all possible proactive measures and is frequently confiscating huge quantities of contraband giving big jolts to trans-border smugglers, particularly narcotics traffickers during 'Anti-Smuggling Drives' in the Tripura State.
This also prevents the youth of Tripura state getting easy access to narcotics.
