Bangladesh minister Bir Bahadur tests Covid-19

AGARTALA, June 07 2020: A member of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s cabinet in Bangladesh has been tested positive to coronavirus. Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing is the Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Minister.
He was airlifted to Dhaka from Bandarban, one of three districts in the hills and admitted in the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
Reports said condition of Bir Bahadur is not stable if not critical.
He is first infected minister in Bangladesh which has so far burdened with over 63 thousand Covid-19 cases.
Numerous senior politicians, top intellectuals, journalists, police officers and educationalists contacted virus in the country. Several have succumbed leaving a pall of gloom in country’s civil society.
Former home and health minister Mohammad Nasim who was tested positive for coronavirus has been under ventilation at a Dhaka hospital.
