Assam Rifles in action, seizes ₹1.95 cr worth foreign cigarettes

AGARTALA, March 15, 2025: The Assam Rifles seized a consignment of 195 cartons of smuggled foreign cigarettes in Khowai District of Tripura. The contraband valued at approximately ₹1.95 crore in the international market was confiscated during a accurately executed joint operation.
The paramilitary force stated that this seizure is part of their ongoing efforts to combat the drug menace in all its forms. They have previously conducted successful raids against narcotic substances including heroin. The seized goods have been formally handed over to the Customs Department for further investigation and legal proceedings.
