21 markets in Tripura chosen for e-Commerce

AGARTALA, October 20, 2019: Tripura to bring 21 wholesale markets under e-Commerce mechanism. The state government would amend Tripura Agricultural Marketing Act 1980 for the purpose.
Officials said the central government would provide Rs 30 lakhs for infrastructure development of the selected markets. They said the decision was taken to interlink state’s commodity markets with rest in the country.
E-commerce facility would be introduced in 21 markets though the state has total 84 wholesale markets.
A bill required for necessary amendment of Tripura Agricultural Marketing Act 1980 would be placed in next session of state assembly, officials added.
