Tripura Governor Nallu releases a special book
On life and legacy of the Founder of the ICFAI Group
THE ICFAI UNIVERSITY TRIPURA released a special commemorative book dedicated to the life and legacy of Late NJ Yasaswy, the Founder of the ICFAI Group. The biography was released by Governor of Tripura, Indrasena Reddy Nallu, in a grand ceremony organised on November 25, 2025 at 4 pm in the Auditorium of the University, along with Prof (Dr) Biplab Halder, Vice Chancellor & Dr A Ranganath, Registrar of the University. 
The title of the book is ‘First. Forever. NJ Yasaswy – They Don’t Make Them Like Him Anymore’. During the welcome address, Prof (Dr) Halder gave a detailed speech about life, philosophy and visionary thought of the Late Yasaswy. The governor, in his address, said that Yasaswy was a person who thought long back reaching of modern education.
He narrated the life of Yasaswy with many examples that made him a Namasya person. The book is a collection of insightful articles contributed by eminent personalities who were closely associated with Late NJ Yasaswy at various stages of his life.
The book reflects on his inspiring journey, visionary leadership and immense contributions to higher education and institution-building. It is to be noted here that the Late NJ Yasaswy, born on February 9,1950, at Tenali in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh, was a multifaceted genius and a pioneer in redefining private higher education in India. His well-known dictum, ‘Ours is a private effort with a public purpose’ continues to inspire the ICFAI fraternity.
His innate strengths lateral thinking and outstanding ability to articulate ideas made him a visionary of rare distinction. The commemorative book pays tribute to this charismatic leader, a visionary thinker and an extraordinary institution builder.
Unfortunately, he died on October 8, 2011. He was a ‘friend, philosopher and guide’ to all Members of the ICFAI Family and this book are a bouquet of remembrance.
The official opening of the book was followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the vote of thanks delivered by the Registrar of the University.
