AGARTALA, December 08, 2023: The Tripura police have successfully solved a horrific murder case by apprehending the lone assailant who had been on the run for several days. The accused, Mintu Debbarma, was arrested Friday in Kalyanpur, Khowai district, for killing his wife and burying her in a forested area.
He has confessed to the murder of his 27-year-old spouse, Jesmi Debbarma, nearly a week ago. According to his statement to the police, he had dragged her body to a desolate area and buried it there.
The police were able to locate the body based on clues obtained during their investigation. The assailant, Mintu Debbarma, had been evading arrest since committing the crime.
