
REGIONAL: The 5th North-East FoodTech 2026, a key B2B exhibition for the Food, Bakery and Hospitality Industry, is scheduled from January 29 to February 1 at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre in Guwahati. This four-day event serves as a vital platform for various stakeholders, including manufacturers, suppliers, chefs, hoteliers and entrepreneurs, to explore technological advancements, trade partnerships and investment opportunities in the North-East region.
Sessions on modern bakery and business management
Over 80 companies from across India are set to exhibit their latest offerings in food processing machinery, bakery equipment, refrigeration solutions and more signaling the North-East's potential as a food industry hub. A prominent feature of this edition is the N-E Bakery Conclave 2026 on January 31, which will include expert sessions on modern bakery operations and business management featuring industry leaders like Chef Manjit Gill and Mandeep Kaur.
'Flavours of North-East'
The event also emphasises the significance of local MSME bakeries by recognising their contributions and awarding select units. Additionally, culinary demonstrations and competitions, particularly the 'Flavours of North-East' segment, will showcase regional cuisine and the talents of various chefs.
Zakir Hossain, Chief Convener of North-East FoodTech, highlighted the exhibition's importance in connecting local food and hospitality entrepreneurs with national industry players, facilitating access to essential technology and partnerships for business growth.
To witness huge attendance
An estimated 7,000 business visitors from neighboring regions are expected to attend, further establishing Guwahati's role in the food processing and hospitality sectors.
