National Teachers Award 2024 to be given to 82 teachers

NATIONAL, September 04, 2024: President Droupadi Murmu will present the National Teachers Award 2024 to 82 teachers in New Delhi Thursday. Every year country celebrates September 5, birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, as National Teachers’ Day.
The award aims to recognise the exceptional contributions of teachers who have enhanced the quality of school education and enriched students' lives. The Department of School Education and Literacy has selected 50 teachers from 28 states, three Union Territories and six organizations for the award.
Besides, 16 teachers from the Department of Higher Education and 16 from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will also be awarded. Each award includes a merit certificate, a cash award of 50 thousand rupees and a silver medal.
