Lao-ong Mo of the Konyak community celebrated Saturday

REGIONAL, September 28, 2024: Lao-ong Mo is a significant cultural event in the Konyak community marking the celebration of a bountiful harvest and the community's unity to preserve and promote their rich cultural heritage. MP Tapir Gao, Arunachal East Constituency, Saturday graced the Konyak Lao-Ong Mo festival 2024 at Mon in Nagaland as Special Guest, MP Phangnon Konyak, Advisor W Chingang Konyak and MLA Manpon Konyak.
The festival featured traditional attire, songs and dances using indigenous musical instruments. Tapir Gao highlighted the importance of health and education, urging the clan to strive for eradication of drug menace and save the young generation.
Cultural songs were presented by various organisations and President Tingtok Konyak delivered the welcome address. The programme also featured indigenous games like fire making, spear throwing, wool making and rice grinding.
