BCAS notified stringent measures to deal with the offenders

IH News Desk

NATIONAL, September 30, 2024: The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has urged state governments to share information on strict actions taken against offenders in cases of hoax calls and bomb threats at airports in accordance with the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against Safety of Civil Aviation Act 1982.

The BCAS has established guidelines and protocols to address these incidents, which have been causing significant inconvenience to passengers, airlines and security agencies. Section 39 (a) of the Act outlines offenses at airports, including unlawful and intentional violence, destruction of aircraft or facilities, disruption of service and endangering safety.

Those who attempt to commit or aid in such offenses are also considered guilty and will be punished accordingly. The primary objective of this act is to address the serious issues that have been causing inconvenience to passengers, airlines and security agencies.
