NATIONAL, July 29, 2024: The Union Ministry of Education has launched a week-long campaign, "Shiksha Saptah," to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the National Education Policy 2020. The initiative, Vidyanjali, is a school volunteer management programme that was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 7, 2021.

The programme aims to strengthen schools and improve the quality of education by involving the community, corporate social responsibility and the private sector. Schools are currently focusing on onboarding themselves to the Vidyanjali portal, identifying local volunteers and featuring their names on a "Wall of Fame/Notice Board."

Notably principals, teachers and students are writing letters of gratitude to these volunteers. To raise community awareness, activities such as rallies, street plays, poster-making, and chart-making are being organized.

State and district-level officials are actively participating to ensure the success of the campaign. The initiative's ultimate goal is to create a strong support system for students and teachers, fostering a better learning environment by bringing together schools, volunteers, and the community through the Vidyanjali portal.
