GLOBAL: A leading Baloch leader and human rights activist Mir Yar Baloch has addressed an open letter to India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar expressing strong support for India while alerting to a potential Chinese military presence in Balochistan. In his letter from Pakistan, he described the growing alliance between Pakistan and China as “dangerous” amidst the nearing completion of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Mir Baloch indicated that military troops from Beijing, in collusion with Islamabad, could be deployed to Baluchistan in the coming months unless local resistance is bolstered. He highlighted Balochistan's long history of repression under Pakistani rule, characterized by state violence and human rights violations.
Media reports revealed plans for Balochistan to celebrate the "2026 Baluchistan Global Diplomatic Week" in early 2026, aimed at highlighting international relationships following a declaration of independence from Pakistan by Baloch nationalist leaders in May 2025.
Mir Baloch also commended the Indian government's decisive actions led by Prime Minister Modi in response to prior attacks specifically referencing Operation Sindoor following the Pahalgam attack.
