GLOBAL: The BSF and Meghalaya Police Sunday rejected a claim made by Bangladesh police regarding the arrests of two suspects in connection with the killing of a young right-wing leader in Dhaka earlier this month. State police officials have responded to the claims of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, which stated that it has received informal information about the arrest of two suspects identified only by their single names, Purti and Sami in East Garo Hills.
Meghalaya police have also denied having any communication with Bangladesh police and refuted the claim that two people have been arrested in link with the murder of Sharif Osman bin Hadi.
Indian media outlets reported that BSF also claimed to have no knowledge of any breach of the international border along Meghalaya state or the presence of Bangladeshi fugitives in India.
Bangladesh authorities have claimed that the main shooters in the Hadi murder incident, Faisal Karim and Alamgir Sheikh, along with their accomplices fled across the border. India has outright rejected this claim.
