KOHIMA, February 08, 2020: Vungoju FC lifted the 10th edition of the Lotha Football Championship which ended on Friday. The Wokha District Football Association (WDFA) its tenth the edition of Lotha Football Championship (LFC) at Local Ground, Wokha with Er Chonrhonthung Ezung, Executive Engineer (Electrical) Wokha as the special guest.
The final matched was played between Vungoju FC vs A1 Tsungiki FC where Vungoju FC claimed the champion title of the 10th Edition of Lotha Football Championship.
Dominating the matched, Vungoju FC in the first half through its strikers Hatsabemo (17 minutes) and Yiben (28 and 34 minutes) scored three goals, while A1 Tsungiki FC scored the lone goal through a penalty at the 39th minute through Sinlo.
Hatsabemo of Vungoju FC scored two important goals in the second half, claimed a hat-trick (17, 58 and 65 minutes) on the final match.
Vungoju FC took home a running trophy, medal, certificates and a cash prize of one lakh, while the runners-up received a running trophy, medal, certificates and cash prize of Rs 60,000.
Earlier in the day playing for the third place between Friends Club Wokha Village Vs Niro Range Sports Association , Friends Club Wokha Village claimed the third place while the forth place was adjudged to Niro Range Sports Association.
Individual awards of the 10th edition of LFC for the best defender was claimed by Zuben Kithan of Friends Club Wokha Village, best midfielder by Rashamo Murry of Friends Club Wokha Village, golden Glove by Meribemo of Vungoju FC, Mhabemo of Vungoju FC bagged the player of the tournament, while the highest scored of the tournament was claimed by Hatsabemo and Sulan from Vungoju FC and Friends Club Wokha Village with 19 goals each.
