AGARTALA, September 11, 2019: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb came down heavily on opposition parties and critics for spreading ‘canard’ over hike of healthcare fees in government hospitals. Deb, who holds health portfolio, denied the government enforced hike and said some proposals directed to improve health facilities are under certain level of consideration.
Speaking at a hastily convened news conference, Chief Minister appealed people not to fall prey to fake propaganda of opposition and vested quarters. He said priority groups would continue to get free treatment in government hospitals.
“We have not yet implemented any change in healthcare fee structure. Where is the question of raising it”, he asserted criticizing the opposition parties which resorted to protests across the state against the ‘hefty hike’.
Chief Minister announced that 84,000 families will be covered under Ayushman Tripura Yojana to receive healthcare free of cost. He alleged most of the families were deleted from the list during CPI(M) led left front regime.
