1st CM to address in Kokborok on its 42nd observance

AGARTALA, January 19, 2020: Biplab Kumar Deb became first Chief Minister to deliver a speech entirely in Kokborok, second official language in Tripura, that too at the programme to observe 42nd Kokborok Language Day Sunday. He even joined a colourful rally along with his ministerial colleagues to mark the occasion,
“Being the Chief Minister, I am happy to address the Kokborok speaking people in their mother tongue. I prepared the speech only last night”, he stated amid applause from the audience. He congratulated people on this auspicious occasion.
He took the opportunity to announce a decision adopted by his cabinet to rename Baramura hill range as ‘Hathai Kotor’. The renaming in-fact return of the old time name of the hill range, situated 35km east of Agartala.
Chief Minister opined that people can learn any language if they accept it by heart and for that one has to set out a positive mentality.
