KOLKATA, July 06 2020 (HS): Considering the requests from the Tollygunge Film Industry as well as from a number of leading artistes, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee permitted resumption of outdoor shooting of Bengali films in the state with proper healthcare protocols, Monday.
The CM, who held a meeting with senior cine artistes here for the first time after the local film industry was allowed to resume indoor shooting for Bengali television serials and movies last month, discussed their problems because of several restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
After the fraternity members assured the CM for taking care of central guidelines related to Covid-19, she agreed.
“But you should make full use of all eco-tourism parks in the state for this purpose,” she said and urged the artistes to follow all precautions.
The CM also agreed for shooting of documentaries and reality shows on condition that no outsiders will be present as audience. She urged the forum to make a special documentary on Covid-19 to create awareness among people.
In a view to explore the growing popularity of web-series among the audience, especially the youth, the CM has set up a two member committee comprising film maker Raj Chakraborty and actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay to look into various aspects of movie making and prepare a report for the government.
