Tripura schools, colleges to reopen from December 7

AGARTALA, December 02 2020: Tripura education minister Ratan Lal Nath has finally declared decision to reopen schools and colleges from December 7. He made the announcement Wednesday stating that the health department has given its consent to the decision.
He said the government appointed expert committee in its meeting on November 26 recommended the reopening of colleges totally and schools partially. Students of Class X and beyond will attend government and private schools while all students are allowed in colleges.
Participation of school students will be completely voluntary and at no point of time they will be forced for attendance.
They will have to compulsory produce consent letter from their legal guardian. College students however will not have to carry that and free to attend.
School heads and college principals have been directed to ensure thermal screening and hand sanitizing arrangements.
Education institutions of the state remained closed from the time of first phase lockdown announced due to coronavirus pandemic.
The government also abolished roster system for the teachers. Teachers will have to make their presence in schools every day.
Ongoing online teaching classes will continue as usual. There has been no proposal yet to start degree colleges.
