Tripura government approves proposal to fill 469 vacancies
67 ex-police officers to be re-appointed to manage immigration facilities

AGARTALA, June 18, 2024: The Tripura government has approved a proposal to fill 469 vacant positions, including the recruitment of medical officers. 67 retired police officers will also be appointed on a contractual basis to manage immigration facilities.
This decision was approved by the Council of Ministers during its meeting Tuesday.
Sushanta Chowdhury, Minister and cabinet spokesperson, told newsmen that the government plans to create and fill 226 General Duty Medical Officer positions under the Health department with recruitment being conducted by the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). Moreover, the Health department will also have 16 super specialist doctors and 172 specialist doctors.
It has been made mandatory for all job applicants to have a PRTC.
Chowdhury also mentioned that the government intends to fill 49 vacant vacancies under the Fire and Emergency Services department through direct recruitment by the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). A proposal for six Food Sub-Inspectors has been approved by the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT).
The government as also decided to absorb 67 retired police officers on a contractual basis and assign them to three immigration centers at Maharaja Bir Bikram airport, Agartala, Nischintapur Railway Station and the Integrated Check Post at Sabroom. A proposal to declare an immigration center at the airport has been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs and international air connectivity will commence after receiving clearance.
