Sumit Nagal wins the PSD Bank Nord Open Trophy title
BERLIN, July 01 2020 (HS): Amidst the Corona virus epidemic, good news has come from the tennis world for the country. India’s young tennis player Sumit Nagal won the title of PSD Bank Nord Open Trophy in Germany.
Currently India's highest seeded player Nagal won the title by defeating second seed Daniel Masur of Germany 6–1, 6–3 in the final match.
After winning the title, Nagal said, “It was nice to return here after four months. Playing in this tournament at the moment is also good and beyond reality. It was a nice little tournament in which 60 players took part and this place is not far from where I am training. That's why I thought I would play in it."
Nagal had earlier played his last match in the Davis Cup against Croatia in March.
He said that the experience of this tournament was different than the other tournaments he has played before. The players' temperature was checked and they had to wash their hands before going to court.
He said, "Everyone had to stay at least two meters away. This is something, you just have to remember."
