Schools in Tripura to operate from December 1

AGARTALA, November 29 2020: Tripura government has decided to open all higher secondary schools from December 1. However students studying in Class X and above will be allowed to attend their respective schools.
Education Department officials said the government appointed expert committee in its meeting on November 26 took the decision. They added that participation of students will be completely voluntary and at no point of time they will be forced for attendance.
The students will have to compulsory carry consent letter from their legal guardian. School heads have been directed to ensure thermal screening and hand sanitizing arrangements.
The schools in the state remained closed from the time of first phase lockdown announced due to coronavirus pandemic.
The government has also decided to abolish roster system for the teachers. Teachers will have to make their presence in schools every day.
Ongoing online teaching classes will continue as usual. There has been no proposal yet to start degree colleges.
