Lemongrass sapling distributed to local progressive farmers

SHILLONG, January 17 2021: Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (DBT-IBSD), Shillong, Node: Meghalaya, under the initiative of the Director, IBSD, Prof Pulok K Mukherjee, planned program to strengthening and creating additional livelihood to the local farmers of Byrnihat, Ri bhoi District, an Aspirational District of Meghalaya through utilization of local Bioresources.
To achieve this Lemongrass sapling distributed to the local progressive farmers with the aims to effectively transform these districts after the pandemic.
The distribution of Lemongrass saplings was carried out at Rural Bioresorurce Complex (RBC) Byrnihat, Ri bhoi District, Meghalaya in presence of Dr Samar Roychowdhury, Controller of Administration and Finance (CoAF), IBSD and O Bishan Singh, Senior Account Officer, IBSD, along with the Scientific and technical support staff of IBSD Node; Meghalaya Sunday.
The DBT-IBSD Centers in different parts of North East India are actively participating and serving the society during the Covid-19 scenario under the leadership of the Director, IBSD, Prof Pulok K Mukherjee. The Institute will continue its activity to strengthen the local farmers to emerge from the losses.
