India to celebrate ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’

KOHIMA, March 03 2021: Chief Secretary of Nagaland J Alam informed that the Government of India will be celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ to commemorate the 75th anniversary on India’s freedom at the national and international level. The Prime Minister of India, will launch the opening ceremony on March 12 from Gujarat, he stated.
In this connection a meeting was convened by the Chief Secretary Wednesday with Officers from various departments. Alam said that programmes for celebration shall begin 75 weeks prior to August 15 2022 and accordingl March 12 2021 has been chosen as the date of launch of the celebrations.
He further informed that on this date, concurrently, events related to ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ or ‘India@75’ will unfold in all State and Union Territories of India.
The meeting decided that Nagaland, along with the rest of the Nation, will celebrate India@75 on March 12 2021 with a befitting launching programme at the State Capital. The meeting also decided to chalk out a calendar of events for the next 75 weeks.
