Governor’s Rule to be extend in TTAADC

AGARTALA, October 28 2020: The Governor’s Rule in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) will be extended for another term in absence of an administrative decision on holding its elections. The Governor had appointed an Administrator in the council after tenure of the elected committee ended on May 17 last.
The elections were due in May, but had to be postponed due to coronavirus situation. The official notification issued on the whole gamut had stated Governor’s Rule imposed for a period of six months.
Thus the tenure of the Administrator will expire on November 16. Meanwhile election schedule for 28-member council has not been announced.
In the given situation official sources said the period of Governor’s Rule will be extended at least for another three months. Fresh notification in the matter is likely to be issued in next few days.
