CM visits various spots, reviews works, quarantine status

AGARTALA, May 29 2020: Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb Friday visited several places under Sepahijala district in his first of district wise inspections to review administrative works and coronavirus linked quarantine status.
He inspected some various quarantine centres and checked actuality on home quarantine.
During visit he interacted with the district and local officials as well as health staffs. He inquired on distribution of assistance to people in need under schemes announced by the central and state governments.
While interacting with media he expressed satisfaction over maintenance of social distance and health protocols in rural areas.
Making a significant statement Chief Minister Deb stated that the state government was working on plan to utilise the skills of people who are returning from different states.
Chief Minister told newsmen that new waterway between Tripura and Bangladesh through river Gomati would start functioning within three months. He opined that the announcement of the route which was fallout of recent signing of water protocols between India and Bangladesh would boost trade and economy not only in Tripura, but across northeast India.
Deb informed that a temporary jetty would be built at Sonamura to start the route with small and medium vessels and would be gradually upgraded.
