BSF apprehends 2 drug peddlers with huge narcotics

AGARTALA, July 18 2021: BSF Tripura while neutralizing the ill designs of trans-border narcotics and drug smugglers is regularly conducting ‘Special Anti-Narcotics Drives’ in the State. On intervening night of July 17/18, BSF troops foiled smuggling bids & seized “1,112 Yaba Tablets, 37.5 Kg Ganja, 0.26 Gm Brown Sugar along with seven cattle and other contraband items having total value Rs 10,00,567 and apprehended two drug peddlers.
In a separate operation, the troops also neutralized exfiltration attempt by apprehending two Bangladeshi Nationals”.
Acting on a specific Intelligence input, the BSF troops of Border Out Post- Oscar Det (20 Bn BSF) conducted a special operation and intercepted two suspects approaching IBB Fence Gate on Motorcycle in general area Kailashshar, Unakoti. The suspects revealed their identity as Ataur Rahaman (35) and Yasin Ali, both residents of Babur Bazar in Kailashahar, under Unakoti district.
During thorough search, BSF party recovered ‘392 Nos Yaba Tablets and 0.26 Gms Brown Sugar’. An FIR has been lodged and the apprehended persons along with seized items have been handed over to Kailashahar police station for further legal action.
On same night, based on specific information, vigilant troops of Border Out Post at Srimantapur (133 Bn BSF) seized ‘720 Yaba Tablets & 3.5 Kgs Ganja’ in general area in Sonamura Sub Division of Sepahijala district. Similarly, alert Praharis of Border Out Postof New Nidaya(130 Bn BSF) seized 20 Kgs Ganja in general area in Jatrapur of Sonamura. Ganja
Further, vigilant troops of Border Out Post at Sarasima(200 Bn BSF) apprehended two Bangladeshi nationals who were trying to exfiltrate from India to Bangladesh. An FIR has been lodged and apprehended BD nationals along with seized items handed over to local police station.
