ATMA signs MoU with Syama Prasad Mookerjee port

AGARTALA, February 25 2021: In a bid to boost the trade between Tripura and rest other states of the country the All Tripura merchant association (ATMA) has signed a MoU with Syama Prasad Mookerjee port Kolkata Thursday
MoU was signed between Board of Trustees of Syama Prasad Mookherjee Port, Kolkata (Kolkata Port) and The ATMA of Region connectivity to facilitate transit goods movement to Tripura and North East from Kolkata/Haldia using Inland and Costal Waterways via Chittagong, through a live webinar.
It was signed by Debasish Gupta, Traffic Manager on behalf of Syama Prasad Mookherjee Port, Kolkata and Sujit Roy, General Secretary, All Tripura Merchant Association.
Speaking in a press conference ATMA general secretary Sujit Roy said that with this step the business of Tripura and other NE states will be benefited and as well as the businessman of the state also would be benefitted.
“All the products will come in a transit movement via Chittagong port which will decrease the distance between Tripura and West Bengal which was around 1600 Km and now it will reduce to 640 km. This step will definitely help the state and will boost the trade”, Sujit said.
