NATIONAL, November 14, 2025: An accidental explosion late Friday night at the Nowgam police station near Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir injured at least eight personnel who were extracting samples from a large cache of explosives linked to a terror module case relating to a huge car blast in Delhi.
The police station blast prompted the sound of ambulance and police sirens as the injured were transported to a hospital. Small successive explosions hindered immediate rescue efforts by the bomb disposal squad, raising questions about the full storage of the 360 kg of explosives at the police station, where the related terror module case is being investigated.
The explosives were found during raids in Haryana’s Faridabad.
This police station is involved in the case owing to a conspiracy emerged after threatening posters appeared in Bunpora, Nowgam, in mid-October leading the Srinagar police to register a case on October 19.
Detailed analysis of CCTV footage allowed investigators to identify three initial suspects, all of whom had prior allegations of stone pelting and were caught on camera pasting the threatening posters.
