38th Mizoram secondary school games 2021 concluded
With only Athletics, Badminton, Judo and Table Tennis included

AIZAWL, December 17 2021: The annual school level sports and games extravaganza ‘Mizoram Secondary School Games 2021’ that was held in Lunglei town concluded successfully with the School Education Minister Lalchhandama Ralte gracing the closing ceremony at Thuamluaia Mual. The Minister also released the new School Education Department logo designed by Pu Lalnghinglova, Principal, ERMS.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak the 2020 edition of Mizoram Secondary School Games was canceled, and this year too saw a toned down version of the games, with only Athletics, Badminton, Judo and Table Tennis included in the event. 330 participants including 151 male & 128 female participants and 51 teachers participated in the games.
Lunglei District with a total of 19 Medals won -7 Gold medals, 8 Silver, 4 Bronze and was declared the Overall Champion of the Games. Aizawl North won second prize, with Kolasib District in the third position.
Addressing the gathering at the Closing Ceremony, School Education Minister Lalchhandama Ralte commended the Mizoram School Games Committee & Organizing Team on their successful conduct of the games despite challenges posed by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, and congratulated all participants for their part in making the event a grand success.
He encouraged the students present to cultivate interests beyond their textbooks, to follow their dreams and passion, and not to be afraid of failure, but to take it as a stepping stone to success.
