
AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha announced at the Samriddhi 2.0 programme Monday that an allocation of Rs 38 crore will be used to develop over 13,000 small enterprises in various state blocks. He stressed the importance of women's empowerment in strengthening the state's social fabric, citing the formation of 55,000 women self-help groups that have benefited approximately 5 lakh rural women.
These efforts have resulted in the disbursement of Rs 2,389 crore in bank loans to these groups with an additional Rs 837 crore in government assistance.
The Chief Minister also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's focus on women's empowerment and the success of the Grameen Jivika Mission in promoting rural self-reliance.
The Samriddhi 2.0 campaign aims to provide Rs 150 crore in loans to women self-help groups and the private sector surpassing previous targets with Rs 269 crore already disbursed. The event saw presentations of success stories by Lakhpati Didis and the inauguration of rural livelihood projects worth Rs 24.37 crore.
